Circular Indoor Garden That Grows Fresh Herbs In Small Space | Rotofarm

Bace

Having own garden is still a dream for many apartment residents. And, growing plants on a window or balcony will occupy more space and make a mess. Therefore, an Australian company ‘Bace’ designed this ‘Rotofarm’ to grow the largest amount of herbs, vegetables, and microgreens in the smallest amount of space.

It doesn’t matter if you are living in an apartment and barely getting sunlight. This soil-free circular farm uses the NASA-inspired zero gravity technology which grows the plant more effective and fast. It looks like a rotating wheel with a light at its middle. Due to f the circular shape, it fits 5.2 ft of growing surface within a space of just 1.7 ft. As a result, it is compact enough to place on top of a table or kitchen counter.

In addition, it will be a highly noticeable natural decoration for your home. The circular indoor garden continuously rotate the plants a full 360° every hour. That means, it dramatically reduces the growth-suppressing effects of gravity. If there is no gravity, then the plants will easily pull water and nutrients up. And, grow even taller with less energy.

Instead of using soil, Rotofarm uses coconut fiber which doesn’t waste water and keep the plants in place when they’re upside down. Moreover, the complete automated system allows you to track the water and nutrient levels through the smartphone app. The custom LED light in the center has a boosted-spectrum that enhances the plant’s growth. Meanwhile, there is no way for water loss from evaporation or drainage.

So Rotofarm will consume less water than any other traditional indoor farming techniques. Finally, this circular farm is perfect for growing leafy greens such as kale, spinach, mint, parsley, rosemary and vegetable like lettuce. Rotofarm is an Indiegogo campaign that raised more than US$152,000 and attracts almost 300 backers. Check the Rotofarm on Indiegogo.com!
