What if you didn’t have to walk to the toilet because the toilet could come to you?

Xiaoban by Yueban is a self-driving robot toilet designed for people with limited mobility. Instead of remaining fixed in one location, the toilet can move around a home and travel to the user when called.

A Toilet That Comes to You

Xiaoban is designed to navigate around obstacles as it moves through a home. When the user calls it, the robot toilet travels to their location.

This approach is intended to make bathroom use more accessible for people who have difficulty moving between a bed, chair, or other locations and a conventional bathroom.

Once it arrives, the user can use the toilet without having to travel to a fixed bathroom fixture.

Built-In Bidet and Warm-Air Dryer

After use, Xiaoban provides built-in washing and drying functions.

The toilet includes a bidet for cleaning and a warm-air dryer. These features are integrated into the robot rather than requiring separate bathroom equipment.

After the user finishes, Xiaoban can return to its docking station.

Returning to the Dock

The docking station is where the robot handles its waste and cleaning processes.

After returning from use, Xiaoban aligns with the existing household toilet and extends a disposal arm. The system is designed to transfer the waste into the household toilet.

An internal low-noise grinder processes the solid waste together with liquids, breaking it down into a slurry before it is flushed away.

According to the provided information, this process is designed to help the waste pass through the plumbing without clogging.

Odor Control and Sterilization

Xiaoban also incorporates systems designed to control odors and maintain hygiene.

The robot uses activated charcoal filters for sealed odor control. It also uses dual UV sterilization as part of its cleaning and hygiene system.

The waste is contained inside the robot’s internal bowl during use and handling, keeping the process enclosed.

Designed for Limited Mobility

The main purpose of Xiaoban is to provide a mobile toilet option for people with limited mobility.

A conventional toilet requires the user to travel to a fixed location. Xiaoban reverses that arrangement by bringing the toilet to the user.

Once the toilet is no longer needed, it can return to its dock, where the waste disposal and cleaning processes take place.

A Different Approach to Home Toilets

Xiaoban combines autonomous movement, a built-in bidet and warm-air dryer, waste processing, odor control, and UV sterilization in a mobile toilet system.

Rather than being permanently installed in one bathroom, it is designed to move around the home and return to its docking station after use.

The concept offers a different approach to toilet access, particularly for people who have difficulty reaching a conventional bathroom.

It sounds unusual compared with a traditional toilet, but Xiaoban is essentially designed to bring the toilet to the person instead of requiring the person to go to the toilet.

A floor mat usually stays on the floor. The Rizer Mat is designed to do something different.

With a simple press of its foot pedal, the mat activates a built-in scissor lift mechanism and rises 8 inches above the floor. The elevated surface creates a stable platform that can provide extra height for everyday tasks.

From Floor Mat to Hidden Step

When collapsed, the Rizer Mat has a height of just 1.25 inches. It is designed to blend into its surroundings and function as a floor mat when not being used as a raised platform.

For wheelchair users who drive, transporting a folding wheelchair can take up valuable trunk space and may require lifting the chair into the vehicle. Ming Ao’s roof-mounted wheelchair storage device takes a different approach by storing the folded wheelchair on the roof of the car.

The electric system is designed to lower the wheelchair beside the driver’s door at the push of a button. After the wheelchair is retrieved, the carrier folds back up and locks onto the roof.

A Wheelchair Stored on the Roof

Instead of placing a folding wheelchair inside the trunk, the system uses a rooftop enclosure designed specifically for storing a folding wheelchair. The device is installed using the car’s roof racks and is designed to be suitable for most car models on the market. It is also available for both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive vehicles.

This arrangement leaves the vehicle’s interior and trunk available for their normal uses while providing a dedicated location for the folded wheelchair.

Electric Lowering and Retrieval

The wheelchair carrier is electrically operated. With the push of a button, the mechanism lowers the wheelchair from the roof to a position beside the driver’s door. Buttons control both the lifting and lowering operations. A buzzer provides an audible alert while the carrier is being lifted or lowered, helping indicate that the mechanism is in operation.

For storage, the carrier takes approximately 50 seconds to complete its operation. Retrieval takes approximately 45 seconds.

A Seat That Moves Out of the Car

The system can also be used with a driver’s seat that slides out of the vehicle and lowers to approximately wheelchair height. This allows the driver to move from the car seat into the wheelchair beside the vehicle. Once the transfer is complete, the empty seat can be moved back inside the car at the push of a button.

The sequence combines the wheelchair carrier with the moving driver’s seat, reducing the need to manually lift the wheelchair into the vehicle.

Powered From the Vehicle

The wheelchair storage device is powered by the vehicle. Power can be supplied through the car’s socket or a power outlet in the trunk. According to the provided specifications, the system does not require modifications to the vehicle’s electrical system.

The stated power supply is DC 12 volts with a current requirement of 10 amps.

Designed Around a Folding Wheelchair

The rooftop enclosure is intended for storing a folding wheelchair. The maximum lifting capacity is specified at 28 kilograms. The complete device weighs approximately 50 kilograms.

Because the system is installed on roof racks rather than directly modifying the vehicle’s electrical system, its design is intended to work with the existing vehicle setup while providing powered wheelchair storage.

A Rooftop Approach to Wheelchair Transportation

Ming Ao’s roof-mounted wheelchair storage device moves wheelchair storage outside the vehicle rather than using the trunk. Its electric carrier lowers the folded wheelchair beside the driver’s door, while the moving driver’s seat provides a way to position the driver at wheelchair height for transfer.

With button-controlled lifting, lowering, and seat movement, the system combines wheelchair transportation and vehicle access into one setup designed around greater independence.

The key specifications include a 12V, 10A power supply, a 28-kilogram maximum lifting capacity, a 50-kilogram device weight, approximately 50 seconds for storage, and approximately 45 seconds for retrieval.

Building facades are usually designed to protect the structure and create a particular architectural appearance. eSolarFacades by Phomi takes a different approach by integrating photovoltaic technology directly into the building envelope.

The system is designed to combine the appearance of materials such as stone, wood, or brick with renewable energy generation. Instead of adding conventional solar panels as a separate feature, photovoltaic technology becomes part of the facade itself.

Solar Technology With an Architectural Finish

eSolarFacades are designed for projects where the appearance of the building is important alongside energy generation. The facade can be customized with different colors and textures, allowing designers to create surfaces that resemble stone, wood, brick, and other architectural finishes.

Standard module dimensions include 1140 × 570 mm, while custom dimensions are also available. The modules have a thickness of 30 mm, with additional available sizes including 1200 × 600 mm, 1254 × 751 mm, and 1260 × 746 mm.

Photovoltaic Performance

Under Standard Test Conditions, or STC, using 1000 W/m² irradiance, AM 1.5, and a temperature of 25°C, the modules are specified with maximum power outputs ranging from approximately 59.23 W to 166.62 W, depending on the configuration.

The maximum power voltage ranges from approximately 20.70 V to 29.22 V.

Phomi states that its eSolarFacades can achieve 60% higher power efficiency than glass BIPV with 60% transmittance. The company also states that carbon emissions are 54.6% lower than glass BIPV under its stated comparison.

Designed for Building-Integrated Solar

Building-integrated photovoltaics, or BIPV, incorporates solar technology into architectural elements instead of treating solar panels as an addition to the building.

eSolarFacades follow this concept by combining the facade surface and photovoltaic function into one architectural system. This approach can be particularly useful for buildings where conventional rooftop solar has limited available space or where designers want renewable energy technology to form part of the exterior appearance.

Strong and Weather Resistant

The modules use an aluminum honeycomb composite panel with an aluminum frame as the back support structure. They are specified with a maximum front and rear surface load of 2400 Pa for wind and snow conditions.

For hail resistance, the system is tested against 25 mm diameter hail at 23.0 m/s. The junction box is IP68 rated and TUV certified. Unlike conventional glass-based photovoltaic modules, the eSolarFacades specifications provided by Phomi list no glass as the facade surface material.

Lightweight Facade Construction

The module weight is approximately 15.28 kg/m², although the final weight can vary depending on the selected texture. This allows the photovoltaic facade to be designed with different architectural finishes while maintaining a relatively consistent module-based construction system.

The combination of the aluminum frame and honeycomb composite structure provides the supporting framework for the facade system.

Energy Storage Options

Phomi also offers off-grid energy storage systems based on the purchase configuration. These systems can include batteries, controllers, and inverters, allowing the photovoltaic facade to be combined with energy storage and power-management equipment.

This can make the system suitable for projects that need more than direct solar generation, particularly where stored energy is required for later use.

A Facade That Does More Than Protect a Building

eSolarFacades show how photovoltaic technology can become part of a building’s architecture rather than remaining a separate rooftop installation. By combining customizable architectural textures with solar generation, the system is designed to turn exterior building surfaces into functional energy-producing elements.

With multiple module sizes, customizable colors, photovoltaic outputs up to 166.62 W per module under the stated conditions, and optional energy-storage components, eSolarFacades offer another approach to integrating renewable energy into modern building design.

What looks like a standard shipping container can transform into a large solar power plant.

The Solarcontainer is a mobile solar energy system designed to provide electricity in locations where a permanent solar installation may not be practical. Instead of transporting and installing hundreds of separate solar panels, the system stores its photovoltaic modules inside a container for transportation.

Once it reaches its destination, the panels unfold to create a large solar array.

The deployed solar panels covering approximately 720 square meters.

240 Solar Panels in a Compact System

The Solarcontainer contains 240 photovoltaic modules. When fully deployed, the panels cover an area of approximately 720 square meters. The unfolded system has a panel length of about 116 meters and can provide up to 140 kWp of power-generating capability.

This allows a large solar installation to be transported in a much smaller footprint and deployed where electricity is needed.

Designed for Fast Deployment

One of the main features of the Solarcontainer is its deployment time. According to the specifications provided, the system can be assembled in up to five hours. Once deployed, the solar panels form a large power-generating array without requiring a conventional permanent solar farm.

This makes the system suitable for temporary or changing locations where electricity infrastructure needs to be installed relatively quickly.

Built Around a 20-Foot High-Cube Container

The base of the Solarcontainer uses a solid floor frame with the same length and width as a 20-foot high-cube container. The container measures approximately 6 meters long, 2.4 meters wide, and 2.9 meters high when transported. The complete system weighs less than 20 tonnes.

When unfolded, the solar array extends to approximately 116 meters in length and covers around 720 square meters.

For Off-Grid and On-Grid Applications

The Solarcontainer can be used for both off-grid and on-grid applications. Its portable design makes it suitable for remote locations where connecting to an existing electricity network may be difficult. It can also provide temporary power for construction sites, events, and other locations that need additional electricity.

The system can also be used during rescue missions and disaster-relief operations, where temporary power infrastructure can be important.

Mobile Power for Construction Sites and Events

Construction sites often need electricity before permanent infrastructure is available. A portable solar system can provide an alternative source of renewable power during this stage. The Solarcontainer can also be transported to events and other temporary installations where electricity is required for a limited period.

After use, the solar array can be folded back into its container-based configuration and transported to another location.

A Large Solar Array That Travels in a Container

The Solarcontainer takes a familiar shipping-container format and turns it into a mobile solar power system. With 240 photovoltaic modules, approximately 720 square meters of deployed solar surface, up to 140 kWp of power-generating capability, and an assembly time of up to five hours, it is designed for situations where large amounts of temporary solar power are needed.

Rather than building a permanent solar farm at every location, the concept allows the solar installation itself to be transported to where it is needed.

Motorcycle helmets are essential for protection, but riding in hot weather can make the inside of a helmet uncomfortable. The ACH-1 air-conditioned helmet by Feher Helmets takes a different approach by actively cooling the air inside the helmet.

The system combines thermoelectric cooling technology with Feher’s patented Tubular Spacer Fabric. The design distributes filtered, cooled air throughout the interior of the helmet while helping move heat away from the rider’s head.

Designed to Keep Your Head Cooler

According to Feher Helmets, the ACH-1 can provide temperatures around 12 to 18 degrees cooler than a traditional helmet under suitable conditions.

The ACH-1 cooling system distributes air inside the helmet.

The cooling system is designed to reduce the temperature around the rider’s head during hot rides. Keeping the head cooler can also make riding in hot weather feel less demanding.

How the Cooling System Works

The ACH-1 uses a combination of airflow and thermoelectric cooling. Ambient air enters through the system and passes through the cooling structure before being distributed inside the helmet.

The helmet incorporates a forehead air vent, airflow-structure lining, heat exhaust, and convection system to manage the movement of air.

The Tubular Spacer Fabric helps create the internal airflow structure, allowing cooled air to move around the rider’s head.

The technology is based on a cooling approach also used for cooled seats in vehicles built by Rolls-Royce.

Powered by a 12V System

The ACH-1’s air-conditioning system requires a power source. The helmet comes with a battery harness that can be connected to a motorcycle’s 12V battery.

The harness is designed to connect to the motorcycle battery, with the red wire connected first to the positive terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal.

When riding, the supplied coiled cable with switch connects the helmet to the installed battery harness, allowing the cooling system to be switched on when needed.

Optional Battery Packs

For riders who don’t want to rely directly on the motorcycle battery, Feher also offers separate 12V battery-pack options.

A 3,000mAh battery is designed to power the helmet for around two hours, while a 6,000mAh battery can provide around four hours. The 12,000mAh option is designed to provide approximately six hours of operation.

Actual operating time can vary depending on conditions and usage.

Helmet Weight

The ACH-1 weighs approximately 1,450 grams. The cooling components and airflow system are integrated into the helmet while maintaining a design intended for motorcycle riding.

The helmet is therefore not simply a conventional helmet with an external fan. Its cooling system is built around actively cooled and distributed airflow.

A Different Approach to Hot-Weather Riding

The ACH-1 air-conditioned helmet is designed for riders who regularly deal with high temperatures. Instead of relying only on passive ventilation, it actively cools and circulates air around the rider’s head.

With thermoelectric cooling, Tubular Spacer Fabric, multiple airflow features, and several battery options, the system provides another way to manage heat during motorcycle rides. The ACH-1 starts at $249.99.

What if you could carry a small wind turbine in your backpack and use it to generate power away from the grid? The VENTYRA R1 is a portable wind power system designed for camping, RV setups, remote work, and emergency charging. The complete system weighs about 2.2 pounds and folds down for easier transportation.

50W of Wind Power

The VENTYRA R1 produces up to 50 watts of output, with a peak load of 75 watts. It supports 12V DC power and can use the VENTYRA Power Hub to convert the energy from moving air into regulated USB power.

The system is designed to start producing power in winds from around 3 m/s, making it suitable for locations where wind conditions are available but may change throughout the day.

The four-blade VENTYRA R1 turbine capturing wind energy.

Four-Blade Turbine With Automatic Alignment

The R1 uses a four-blade turbine to capture energy from the wind. Its rear tail vane automatically turns the turbine to face changing wind directions, so the user does not need to manually reposition it whenever the wind shifts.

This makes the system easier to operate in outdoor environments where wind direction can change.

Set It Up in a Few Steps

The VENTYRA R1 is designed for a simple setup. The blades can be unfolded, the tripod stand extended, and the ground stakes secured to stabilize the system.

Once positioned, the turbine can be connected to the VENTYRA Power Hub using the included XT60 output cable. The generated power can then be used for compatible devices through the power system.

Designed for Off-Grid Use

The compact design makes the VENTYRA R1 suitable for different situations where access to conventional electricity may be limited. It can be used at campsites, with RV setups, during remote work sessions, or as an additional charging option during emergencies.

Because it uses wind rather than sunlight, it can also provide a different renewable power source for situations where solar generation may not be practical.

Foldable and Backpack Ready

At around 2.2 pounds, the VENTYRA R1 is designed to be carried with outdoor equipment rather than transported like a conventional wind turbine. Its foldable body, tripod stand, ground stakes, and compact turbine make it easier to take along for off-grid trips.

VENTYRA R1 is being introduced through Kickstarter, with early-bird pledges starting at $179.

The system combines a lightweight four-blade turbine, automatic wind alignment, 50W output, 12V DC support, and a portable setup designed for people who need power away from the grid.

At first glance, the Combi-Camp looks like a small camping trailer. But once you start unfolding it, the compact trailer transforms into a full-size camping shelter. The cover comes off first, followed by one side of the trailer swinging outward. The canvas then unfolds together with the structure, while the supports lock into position. According to Combi-Camp, the basic tent can be set up in under one minute.

No Traditional Tent Setup

The basic camping shelter unfolds directly from the trailer, so there is no need to build a separate tent structure. There are also no tent pegs or multiple guy ropes required for the basic setup. The floor is built into the trailer as well. This keeps the sleeping area raised above the ground instead of placing the bed directly on the campsite.

An awning can also be added to create more sheltered living space around the tent.

A King-Size Bed Inside

Despite its compact size when closed, the trailer opens into a spacious camping area. Inside, there is a king-size bed measuring 160 × 215 cm. The bed can also be converted into a sofa, giving the interior another seating option during the day. Underneath the bed is up to 1,450 liters of storage space for camping equipment and other gear.

Optional Built-In Kitchen

For campers who want more facilities, the Combi-Camp can also be equipped with a built-in kitchen. This allows the trailer to provide more of the basic features needed for a camping trip while keeping the overall setup compact when traveling.

Designed for Two to Seven People

The Combi-Camp trailer tent is designed to accommodate between two and seven people, depending on the configuration. With the kitchen-equipped version, the overall dimensions including the towbar are approximately 416 × 168 × 115 cm. The total luggage storage capacity is up to 1,450 liters.

Compact When Towing, Spacious When Camping

The Combi-Camp shows how a small trailer can transform into a much larger camping space without requiring a traditional tent setup. It combines a built-in floor, king-size sleeping area, large storage capacity, optional awning, and optional kitchen into a compact trailer designed for travel. The Combi-Camp trailer tent starts at approximately €13,995, or around US$16,171.
