With ‘Infinity’ All Wheel Drive Bike is Now Possible

What do you get when the both two wheels of your bicycle are drivable? A German-based product designer ‘Stephan Henrich’ makes it look easy and possible. The ‘Infinity’ is a beach and city cruiser that gets both wheels drivable with the revolutionary infinity symbol design.

This all-wheel-drive bike uses the concept of monotyre-clip chain construction mechanisms. As a result, it automatically creates a temporary rim in the wheel area which is flexible. Also, there is a dented belt drive in the bikes center area. We have seen the popularity of hubless bikes rising every year. But this out-of-the-box design makes more heads turn towards it.

However, the design features an 8-speed gearbox. By engaging the crank that is connected to a short chain, the central dented wheel gets its force to propel the bicycle. The design was completed in 2009 and Stephan Henrich gets the IBDC Award in Taipei, Taiwan for that.

On the other hand, back in 2020, the SLS 3D printing company called ‘Sintratec’ helps the designer to create a 3D model of his design. But the ‘Infinity’ all-wheel-drive bicycle prototype is still a concept.

Meanwhile, Stephan Henrich believes that the design itself attracts a manufacturer and ends up in the hands of the public as a fully functional product.
