<p>Rear backup cameras improve visibility while reversing, but snow, salt, mud, and road grime can quickly block the lens. Lens Lizard is a universal aftermarket backup camera cleaner that solves this problem. It offers a simple way to clear your camera without installing a full washer system.</p>

<p>You can install Lens Lizard on almost any vehicle with a reverse backup camera mounted above the license plate, including pickup trucks.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Inspired by Luxury Car Features</h2>

<p>Some luxury vehicles from brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, Tesla, and Volvo include built-in backup camera washers. Lens Lizard brings a similar concept as an aftermarket solution that works with existing vehicles.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/remote-lens-lizard-1024x683.webp" alt="Wireless remote used inside the vehicle." class="wp-image-20818" srcset="https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/remote-lens-lizard-1024x683.webp 1024w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/remote-lens-lizard-300x200.webp 300w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/remote-lens-lizard-768x512.webp 768w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/remote-lens-lizard-585x390.webp 585w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/remote-lens-lizard-263x175.webp 263w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/remote-lens-lizard.webp 1170w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Wireless remote used inside the vehicle.</figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How It Works</h2>

<p>The device mounts behind the license plate and uses a high-pressure fluid jet aimed directly at the backup camera. When the camera becomes blocked, the driver presses a wireless remote button from inside the vehicle.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/refill-1024x683.webp" alt="Lens Lizard mounted behind a vehicle license plate." class="wp-image-20817" srcset="https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/refill-1024x683.webp 1024w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/refill-300x200.webp 300w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/refill-768x512.webp 768w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/refill-585x390.webp 585w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/refill-263x175.webp 263w, https://www.thesuperboo.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/refill.webp 1170w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Lens Lizard mounted behind a vehicle license plate.</figcaption></figure>

<p>The system sprays cleaning fluid onto the camera lens, clearing away snow, salt, mud, and grime in seconds.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Simple Five-Minute Installation</h2>

<p>Lens Lizard is designed for quick installation using only a screwdriver. To install, you must remove your existing license plate, place the Lens Lizard unit on the existing screw holes, and then reinstall the license plate on top of the device.</p>

<p>After mounting, you need to adjust the nozzle to ensure it points directly at the backup camera. No complex wiring or permanent modifications are required.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Battery and Fluid System</h2>

<p>The unit includes a removable battery and a fluid reservoir. Both components last for more than four months under normal use. You can recharge the battery and refill the fluid without removing the device from the vehicle.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Story Behind the Invention</h2>

<p>Lens Lizard was invented by Michael Klein after trying to solve his own issue with a dirty backup camera. His early prototype involved strapping a small windshield-washer system to his license plate, powered by a remote control and battery pack. That experiment eventually led to the development of the Lens Lizard product.</p>

<p>The planned retail price for Lens Lizard is $149. During its Kickstarter campaign, early bird pricing starts at $99.</p>
