Harnessing solar power for electric vehicles is no longer a futuristic concept. The DartSolar system has arrived to make this vision a practical reality, offering EV owners an innovative way to extend their range and power devices on the go. This compact rooftop system is transforming how we think about sustainable mobility, combining efficiency, versatility, and ease of use.

Solar-Powered Range Extension

The DartSolar system delivers approximately five kilowatt-hours of solar energy each day, which translates to 10 to 20 additional miles of driving on many electric vehicles. This extra mileage can significantly reduce dependency on charging stations for short commutes, giving EV owners more freedom to travel sustainably.

Quick and Simple Deployment

One of the standout features of the DartSolar system is its user-friendly design. When parked, its six ETFE-coated, fiberglass-backed solar panels can be manually extended in just 10 seconds. These panels are lightweight and designed to withstand the elements, ensuring long-term durability. While driving, the panels nest together, maintaining a sleek, aerodynamic profile of just 1.25 inches, which minimizes drag and preserves the vehicleโ€™s efficiency.

Robust Design for All-Weather Use

Weighing approximately 93 pounds, the DartSolar system is engineered to endure various conditions. The panels are waterproof, dust-resistant, and washable, making them suitable for year-round use. The sturdy frame, measuring 60 x 46 x 1.25 inches, is secured with four keyed locks and custom bolts, ensuring the system stays in place even in challenging environments.

Integrated Power Unit

At the core of the DartSolar system is a compact power unit located at the rear of the vehicle. This unit converts solar energy into 120-volt alternating current, allowing it to charge the vehicleโ€™s battery or provide power for other devices. The power unit includes two 120-volt, 12-amp outlets, one USB-C PD outlet, and a 12-volt DC outlet. Additionally, an internal 2-kilowatt-hour battery offers a portable power solution for charging tools or electronics.

Sustainable and Secure

DartSolar prioritizes sustainability and security. Its innovative design not only harnesses renewable energy but also ensures the system is hard to remove without the proper tools, adding peace of mind for EV owners.

Would you consider adding the DartSolar system to your electric vehicle?
