Motorcycle helmets are essential for protection, but riding in hot weather can make the inside of a helmet uncomfortable. The ACH-1 air-conditioned helmet by Feher Helmets takes a different approach by actively cooling the air inside the helmet.
The system combines thermoelectric cooling technology with Feherโs patented Tubular Spacer Fabric. The design distributes filtered, cooled air throughout the interior of the helmet while helping move heat away from the riderโs head.
Designed to Keep Your Head Cooler
According to Feher Helmets, the ACH-1 can provide temperatures around 12 to 18 degrees cooler than a traditional helmet under suitable conditions.

The cooling system is designed to reduce the temperature around the riderโs head during hot rides. Keeping the head cooler can also make riding in hot weather feel less demanding.
How the Cooling System Works
The ACH-1 uses a combination of airflow and thermoelectric cooling. Ambient air enters through the system and passes through the cooling structure before being distributed inside the helmet.
The helmet incorporates a forehead air vent, airflow-structure lining, heat exhaust, and convection system to manage the movement of air.
The Tubular Spacer Fabric helps create the internal airflow structure, allowing cooled air to move around the riderโs head.
The technology is based on a cooling approach also used for cooled seats in vehicles built by Rolls-Royce.
Powered by a 12V System
The ACH-1โs air-conditioning system requires a power source. The helmet comes with a battery harness that can be connected to a motorcycleโs 12V battery.
The harness is designed to connect to the motorcycle battery, with the red wire connected first to the positive terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal.
When riding, the supplied coiled cable with switch connects the helmet to the installed battery harness, allowing the cooling system to be switched on when needed.
Optional Battery Packs
For riders who donโt want to rely directly on the motorcycle battery, Feher also offers separate 12V battery-pack options.
A 3,000mAh battery is designed to power the helmet for around two hours, while a 6,000mAh battery can provide around four hours. The 12,000mAh option is designed to provide approximately six hours of operation.
Actual operating time can vary depending on conditions and usage.
Helmet Weight
The ACH-1 weighs approximately 1,450 grams. The cooling components and airflow system are integrated into the helmet while maintaining a design intended for motorcycle riding.
The helmet is therefore not simply a conventional helmet with an external fan. Its cooling system is built around actively cooled and distributed airflow.
A Different Approach to Hot-Weather Riding
The ACH-1 air-conditioned helmet is designed for riders who regularly deal with high temperatures. Instead of relying only on passive ventilation, it actively cools and circulates air around the riderโs head.
With thermoelectric cooling, Tubular Spacer Fabric, multiple airflow features, and several battery options, the system provides another way to manage heat during motorcycle rides. The ACH-1 starts at $249.99.
