Looking for a sustainable and comfortable alternative to your daily commute? The Frikar E-bike is an enclosed pedal-electric quadcycle that’s redefining urban mobility. Already in use across Norway and Germany, it’s now rolling out in Austria and Belgium, bringing car-like comfort to e-bike commuting.
Fully Enclosed Cabin for All-Weather Riding
Unlike standard e-bikes, the Frikar features a fully enclosed cabin, protecting you from rain, wind, and cold. It even includes a windshield wiper, defogger, and carpeted interior, making it feel more like a microcar than a bicycle.
Pedal-Powered Generator with Hub Motor Drive
Instead of the typical chain or belt drive, your pedaling effort is used to power a generator, which in turn drives twin rear hub motors. This innovative system delivers a smooth and quiet ride, with electric assist up to 25 km/h and a maximum downhill speed of 50 km/h.
Smart Cargo and Seating Options
The Frikar is compact, 2.3 meters long and just 84 cm wide, about the size of a bike trailer. Despite its small footprint, it offers 160 liters of cargo space or can be configured with a child seat for kids up to 6 years (22 kg). It fits riders from 1.65 to 1.95 meters tall.
Battery Range and Charging
Powered by a removable battery, the Frikar provides 30–50 km of range per charge, depending on conditions. It’s designed for short to medium commutes, offering a clean, efficient, and fun alternative to traditional vehicles. The Frikar starts at €10,916.
