UK-based startup CompoCloset, founded in 2020, has introduced the S1 Sealing Toilet, a modern solution to off-grid and portable sanitation. This compact unit is designed to keep waste management clean, odor-free, and efficient with the help of a battery-powered heat sealing system.
Heat-Sealing Tech for Hygienic Waste Handling
At the core of the S1 is a battery-powered automatic heat sealing system. With a push of a button, the system hygienically seals solid waste into a bag, keeping it completely out of sight and eliminating odors. This design makes it well-suited for use in tiny homes, camper vans, boats, and cabins, anywhere traditional plumbing isnโt practical.
Separate Storage for Solids and Liquids
The toilet includes a built-in urine diverter that separates liquid and solid waste. Liquid waste is collected in a 1.7-gallon (6.4-liter) bottle, while solid waste goes into a 2-gallon (14.7-liter) solids container. A clear LED indicator lets you know when the urine bottle needs emptying, which typically happens after around 20 uses.

Compact, Lightweight, and Durable
Measuring 16.8 inches long, 15.1 inches wide, and 16.3 inches high, the S1 is designed for small spaces. It weighs approximately 23 pounds (10.4 kg) and features a sturdy ABS plastic body with stainless steel hinges and waterproof connectors.
Efficient Power Use
The internal battery can support over 50 seals per charge, making it ideal for extended trips without frequent recharging. Users can remove and dispose of the sealed waste bags once the container is full.
Designed for Off-Grid Life
The S1 Sealing Toilet is built with convenience, hygiene, and sustainability in mind. Its simple button-activated sealing and separate waste compartments offer a modern alternative to chemical and composting toilets. Whether youโre on the road or living remotely, it brings a clean and reliable bathroom solution to where you need it most.
