The Shape-Me Bike is redefining how we think about cycling. Developed by innovation startup Ensavid and designed by Paweล‚ Wawrzyล„ski, this prototype bike challenges traditional pedaling by using your upper body to propel the ride.

Upper Body-Powered Motion

Instead of using foot pedals, the Shape-Me Bike introduces a unique drive mechanism that allows riders to generate forward movement through upper body motion. By gripping a swinging drive bar and moving it back and forth, users engage key muscle groups such as the arms, back, chest, and abdomen. This not only provides outdoor mobility but also delivers a full-body workout.

Dual Direction Propulsion

The design cleverly transforms linear motion into rotational force, which powers the drivetrain. Both the forward and backward strokes contribute to movement. When pushing forward, riders activate the biceps, glutes, and back muscles. Pulling back engages the triceps, abdominal muscles, and chest.

No Saddle, Just Thigh Support

In place of a traditional saddle, the Shape-Me Bike features a padded bar with rollers that rest against the riderโ€™s front and back thighs. This design stabilizes the rider while enabling dynamic upper-body motion.

Uses Standard Bike Components

One of the notable aspects of the Shape-Me Bike is its use of standard bicycle parts such as hubs, gear systems, and chain drives. This makes future maintenance and part replacements more accessible for everyday users and bike mechanics alike.

Still a Prototype, But Full of Promise

Currently in the patenting phase. However, its innovation is drawing attention for offering a new way to combine exercise and mobility. With a growing interest in alternative fitness-based transport, this concept could soon find its place among outdoor fitness equipment and urban commuting solutions.

Would you ride Shape-Me Bike that turns your upper body into the engine?
