Portable Wind Turbine Charger for Camping in the Size of a Water Bottle

Shine

People nowadays choose to live fully off the grid in order to be closer to nature. As a result, once they become aware of the environment, green energy comes to mind. Solar energy is one of the most effective methods, however, it cannot be used in all weather conditions.

Now there’s a really cool alternative for those who want to charge their electronics in a green way while out in the woods! It is called the ‘Shine’, a one-liter water bottle-sized small and portable wind turbine that fits in your backpack. However, it was invented by HALIFAX, Nova Scotia-based female-led firm called ‘Aurea Technologies’.

“We’re offering wind power that fits in your backpack,”

Cat Adalay, CEO and Founder of Aurea Technologies.

‘Cat Adalay,’ an engineer turned renewable energy enthusiast, created the company. They have launched the ‘Shine’ on Kickstarter back on June 8, 2021, which raised more than US$ 165,582. Moreover, the Shine is a 40-watt turbine that can seamlessly charge almost any of our handheld electric devices.

That includes smartphones, cameras, lights, speakers, and other camping gadgets. Once all of your gadgets are fully fueled, simply save the power on its 12,000 mAh internal lithium-ion battery for later use. Further, this portable wind turbine charger generates 13.3 watts per pound. It weighs only 3 lbs and works perfectly in wind speed from 8 to 28 mph.

Above all, it has a waterproof rating of IP54. In other words, it can withstand any weather condition to provide seamless power to your camping trip. When folded it measures only 35cm x 10cm an exact size for a 1-liter water bottle. If you are interested in Shine, get more details from their website.
