The maxon BIKEDRIVE AIR S sets a new benchmark for e-bike systems, offering high performance in an exceptionally light package. Weighing only 2 kg and delivering 90 Nm of torque with up to 620 W peak power, this Swiss-developed system is designed for ultra-light e-bike builds under 17 kg.

Compact and Fully Integrated

The motor is invisibly integrated into the frame, allowing for sleek designs without external bulk. This compact form factor enables e-bikes to remain agile while providing more range with less weight. Despite its size, it delivers consistent power even at high cadences without overheating.

At its core, the system uses a brushless EC internal rotor motor paired with an ultra-quiet, high-performance planetary gearbox.

Battery and Charging

The standard battery offers 400 Wh capacity, 36 V, and weighs 1.8 kg. Charging is efficient, reaching 80% in around 3 hours. This makes it ideal for riders looking for quick turnaround between rides.

Range Extender

For longer trips, the maxon Range Extender provides additional capacity. Shaped like a water bottle and weighing only 1.6 kg, it mounts directly to the e-bikeโ€™s bottle cage for easy installation.

Control and Connectivity

A minimalist control unit is integrated into the top tube, keeping the design clean. Riders can connect to a smartphone app for detailed settings and ride data. The handlebar shifter allows quick switching between three support modes, Cruise, Sport, and Blast, to match different riding conditions.
