Staying visible on the road has always been a priority for cyclists. While bright clothing and lights help, today’s connected vehicles use sensors like radar, LiDAR, and computer vision for collision avoidance. That’s where the Radian Wingman steps in, a retro-reflective safety device specifically designed to make bikes more detectable to modern vehicles.

Designed for Sensor-Based Safety Systems

The Radian Wingman is not just another reflector. It functions as a radar target, amplifying a cyclist’s visibility to radar and LiDAR-equipped vehicles. This technology is especially relevant as more cars now rely on computer-assisted driving and automatic collision detection systems.

At the core of the Wingman is Prizmatic Optimization, Radian’s proprietary approach that combines retro-reflective and fluorescent materials within an optimized geometric casing. This construction helps radar and LiDAR systems receive clearer echoes and light reflections, improving the way vehicles recognize and respond to bicycles in real time.

No Batteries, No Wiring – Just Easy Installation

The Wingman is simple to use. It mounts beneath the bike seat, facing rearward at a 90-degree angle for maximum effectiveness. It requires no batteries or external power, making it a low-maintenance safety enhancement for any bicycle.

While its primary function is passive reflection of radar and LiDAR signals, there’s also an optional light for added nighttime visibility.

How It Works with Vehicle Sensors

When installed correctly, the Wingman reflects radio waves from radar systems and light pulses from LiDAR. This improves a vehicle’s ability to detect and track the cyclist, offering additional layers of protection in environments where reaction time and accurate identification matter most, such as in traffic, at night, or during poor weather conditions.

A Smart Addition to Any Bike

Priced at $119.95, the Radian Wingman may seem like a premium accessory, but for riders who navigate busy streets or commute during early or late hours, the added layer of visibility to driver-assist systems can be invaluable.
