This cutting-edge roomba like robot vacuum and mop cleaner is equipped with advanced stair-climbing capabilities, allowing it to effortlessly climb stairs of different heights, up to 8.7 inches (22 cm), without any manual intervention. It is called the Ascender from the Newark, CA-based company MIGO Robotics which is founded in 2022.
However, it can climb any kind of stairs such as normal stairs, open-riser stairs, curved stairs, open-riser spiral stairs. Unlike other traditional robotic mop, it has a square shaped body and motorized omnidirectional wheels to clean any tight edges. With a 9,700Pa of suction power it works well with marble floor, wooden floor, laminated wood floor, and even carpet floor.
Compatible with popular smart home systems like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Homekit via Matter 1.2, you can conveniently schedule cleanings, monitor progress, and control the Ascender with simple voice commands. Navigation of this vacuum robot including an HD camera, high-precision LiDAR, and 6 ToF sensors.
Also, it’s advanced AI algorithms, seamlessly integrated with a powerful 5 TFLOPS AI computing engine ensuring unparalleled navigation accuracy. It is equipped with tons of advance features that includes, it can clean up to 5380 sq. ft. (500m2) on a single charge of a 12000mAh battery, advanced AI obstacle avoidance for 100+ objects, seamless edge cleaning with zero gap, and a mopping pressure of 17N.
Additionally, it boasts an ultra-narrow passable distance, operates with low noise (10 dB), and offers self-emptying and refilling as well as self-washing and drying capabilities. However, it measures 3.86×16.54×11.22 inches. It’s all-in-one dock handles all the cleaning and emptying the dust bag without human interaction.
Currently, the MIGO Ascender stair-climbing robot vacuum raising funds on Kickstarter. You can get one for an early bird pledge of US$849. Their planned retail price is $1,499.
