Solar panels donโ€™t always have to sit on rooftops. Austria-based Sunbooster has introduced the Sunbooster VERTICAL, a solar fence system that works as both a privacy screen and a clean energy generator. Its design turns ordinary fencing into a productive part of your home.

A Vertical Solar Approach

Unlike traditional rooftop panels, the Sunbooster VERTICAL uses bifacial solar strips mounted vertically. Each strip captures sunlight from the front and back, allowing it to make use of reflected light from the ground, snow, or nearby surfaces.

Because of this vertical orientation, it performs especially well during low-angle winter sun and in the morning and eveningโ€”times when rooftop panels often struggle.

The Sunbooster VERTICAL can be installed along fences, garden walls, or even rooftops without requiring large mounting systems or tilted frames. Its slim form makes it easy to integrate into existing outdoor structures while still delivering year-round energy production.

Flexible Power Options

The system is designed to scale based on your needs. A single setup with six strips can deliver up to 468 Wp, while a dual setup doubles this to 936 Wp. For higher output, a 4-strip system of 4ร—6 strips can provide up to 1,872 Wp, giving homeowners more flexibility in how much energy they want to generate.

Lightweight and Weatherproof

Each strip is extremely slim at only 1.8 mm thick and weighs around 1.0 to 1.2 kg, depending on length. The system operates reliably between โ€“20ยฐC and 60ยฐC, and holds an IP67 protection rating, making it ready for year-round outdoor exposure.

Easy Fence Compatibility

Sunbooster VERTICAL is made to fit standard double wire mesh fences with wire gauges of 6/5/6 and 8/6/8, making installation quick and accessible. Because the modules are vertical and lightweight, most fences require no structural modifications.
