When you think about hiking or backpacking with your dog, and think about dirty paw prints on your bed or hauling around their sleeping bed. Every adventure lover wants to keep their tent clean. At the same time, nobody wants to leave their dog in the cold for the night.
That’s why the Salt Lake City, United States-based couple come up with the ‘Kings Peak Tent’. It’s a uniquely designed 2 person backpacking tent that is designed with dogs in mind. So it has a separate section inside the tent for your furry friend. However, the dog’s compartment has a see-through indoor mesh wall and a separate outside door. As a result, the dogs have complete freedom to enter and exit the tent without interacting with human space.
Moreover, the large interior mesh door reduces the anxiety for your dog. Because the transparent material allows both humans and dogs to see and interact with each other. Also, the wall can be unzipped to let the dog inside your space while the thin baseboard keeps the mud and dirt stay inside the dog’s space.
When comes to the technical aspects, the Kings Peak Tent is made out of a 30-denier polyurethane-coated ripstop nylon, 5-denier ripstop nylon mesh, and 8.5MM Aluminum poles. It measures 52′ in width and 46′ in height. In addition, the human section has a length of 88 inches while the dog section shares a comfortable 24 inches.
To keep your camping gear safe, the waterproof and seam-sealed tent includes a side wall pocket and a hanging gear loft. Currently, this dog-friendly tent is raising funds on Indiegogo and already raised $41,666 USD which is way more than the targeted goal. Do you think it’s a good idea? If so, you can get one for the pledge of $169 USD.
