Even though I don’t have a cat, I can understand that dealing with cat poo can be just as difficult as dealing with dog waste. Thanks to Popur for bringing this self-cleaning litter box come true. However, this automatic cat litter box has a two-box layout.
In other words, it has a separate compartment to store the poo and another compartment for the litter tray. Moreover, they have combined with DuoTilt™ cleantech to create a unique self-cleaning mechanism. On the other hand, it also cleans cat pee and loose poo, and sticky litter on the box.
The litter area measures 20″ x 16″ which is suitable for both kittens and even Maine coons. The automatic bin seamlessly collects the poo and seals the container to lock any sensible odor. Likewise, Popur’s trash bin can hold the waste produced by a cat for up to 21 days. If you have more than one cat, then the date may vary.
Further, the filter and the liner can be easily detached for hand wash. The mechanism of the self-cleaning litter box is very quiet and makes 40 dBA of noise while operating. Also, it can adopt any kind of litter including silica gel. You can also initiate the cleaning process and get the status notification remotely with the Popur smartphone app.
Further, it also features a USB-A socket to connect a pet cam, weight scale, and other cat-friendly gadgets. However, the Popur self-cleaning litter box weighs 31lbs (14kg) and has a maximum loading capacity of 33lbs (15kg). The Popur comes in two different models.
One of them features an automatic waste bin while another one with a cardboard waste bin that requires daily disposal. Currently, the Popur is raising funds on Kickstarter. The pledge for the cardboard trash bin version is $299, while the pledge for the automatic waste bin version is $329.
